About The Designer

Rebecca Clay, the founder of The Bra-cketbook Foundation, designs and manufactures purses out of bras. The profits from the sale of Bra-cketbooks help fight breast cancer.
Rebecca, owner of Rebecca's Interiors in Greenville, South Carolina, has practiced interior design since 1987. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and had a double mastectomy and reconstruction. After making Bra-cketbooks out of her own bras, size B (ha!), she was encouraged by her dear friend, Richard Roche, to begin making them for purchase. It started out as a cottage industry in her basement. Bra-cketbooks are now available in over 500 boutiques in 29 states.
With the help of diet, yoga, water skiing ,snow skiing and walking her neighbors dog, Sport, Rebecca is now committed to "Supporting The Cure".

TALK GREENVILLE 2009
If you open the dictionary and look up the word "outgoing", you just may find a picture of REBECCA CLAY of Rebecca's Interiors in a blinking marquee. Anyone who knows her can tell you her mind is constantly working on the next adventure, and currently the adventure is " the Bra-cketbook".
As a breast cancer survivor, Clay has always loved the idea of finding a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation. Recently her creative juices were sparked, and out came the brilliant idea of recycling bras and lavishly decorating them with luxurious upholstery trim, turning them into adorable clutch-sized purses.
These awfully cute creations are her first endeavor of this sort, but Clay is no stranger to new adventures. She's a champion water skier and a black diamond snow skier. In 2007, Clay slalomed her way to the No. 2 position on the water in the Women's Diva Division for South Carolina.
She says she believes in the Nike slogan "Just Do It!". She loves winters on Copper Mountain and would suggest yoga and a healthy diet for people who are interested in staying fit and flexible after 50.
